About MPHA Committees

A great way to get involved in MPHA is to join one of our formal committees or special interest groups! You can choose to spend as little or as much of your time on participating in ongoing committee activities, attending meetings (conference call options available), or assisting with one-time projects and events.

Thank you for volunteering your time and energy to strengthen your MPHA!

MPHA Committees

Health Equity Committee - Facilitates MPHA’s role in advancing health equity in Minnesota by convening public health professionals to learn about equity efforts, share promising practices, and document as appropriate; with the Policy Committee, to monitor legislative activity and offer policy analysis related to equity and health; and to connect with other APHA affiliates to learn and share health equity efforts.

History Committee - Captures and communicate MPHA and public health stories about past and present policies, programs and people in a variety of ways; promote strategies and approaches that will highlight the importance, relevance, and impact of MPHA and public health history to help inform members and the public health community about present and future health policy and programming matters.

Leadership Development Committee - Helps the MPHA Governing Council and Committees identify and nominate potential leaders in MPHA. Also receives nominations for the MPHA Annual Awards.
